After they break up they can’t see each other for many months, it just hurts too much to think of all the ways they could have been great but instead failed. With every day apart they break a little more.
Eventually, through smiles shared with new people, they are put back together and they are stronger than ever for it because now they understand how to be right for each other.

Steve is starting to wonder if Mr. Stark really needs all these cakes, because no one knows enough people to order a cake for a party every single week without fail, but he’s a loyal customer so Steve doesn’t think too hard on it.
When Tony (they’re on a first name basis now and Steve is glad that they’re friends) starts hanging out in the kitchen on an almost daily basis, he realizes that he could really care less what the cakes are for.
And when Tony orders a cake that says “Call Me ;—)” with his phone number on it and subsequently presents it to Steve (who thought it best to make the cake without asking), he thinks about Tony’s reputation as a suave lady’s man and wonders if this is how he asks out all his dates.

Steve stares at the pages from Tony studying the detail with which the other man had graphed out the dance movies— with notes on posture, tempo, and every other minute detail, like the blueprint for one of those crazy machines he was always dreaming of— and lets out an exasperated sigh.
“Hm, what’s wrong Steve, I thought I got it all down correctly, you meant a two-person dance, right, that’s what I did, or did you want the Charleston, because I can make some notes on that if you need it, just give me a minute to finish up this—”
Steve interrupts him because he knows the rambling will never stop and he makes a point to look as innocent as possible while he says, “I was just hoping for a more hands-on approach.”
“He hasn’t said a word since they brought him in.”
And he won’t, he’ll just stare at the wall until they give him time to work out, and shower, and eat, and any other mindless activity they can think up to keep the boys from going insane
He doesn’t speak to anyone, but sometimes during a bad dream he calls out the name ‘Sammy!’ without even meaning to.

About the art I reblogged: I have mixed feelings about some of the artists. I like Adam Hughes (the artist of that Poison Ivy you were referring to, I believe), and I think the world needs Pinup artists. Sexy art is awesome (though I would love more pinup-style art of men! hehe)! But his waists have bothered me for quite a while. They’re way too narrow! It hurts me to say because I really do like his art, but I look at something like this and I cringe a little because it’s clear he was just going for a basic, not-sexy pose (which I give him props for tbh, a lot of artists don’t know how to do that) but it just looks like he doesn’t know basic proportions. I’ve never seen a woman with shoulders that wide and hips that narrow.
About the over-sexualization: I don’t care for it, of course! I think the ridiculous posing needs to stop. It’s possible to fight without twisting your spine so the camera can see both your boobs and your ass and your tiny tiny waist. There is the concept that the ladies are just there as eye candy etc etc and that is definitely bad! Just putting women on a team for the sake of having them do sexy poses and get tied up and brainwashed by their feelings of love 4 men is terrible. It’s demeaning and it’s frustrating for girls who want an awesome comic book role model who can stand her own without a team of men behind her.
The writers do a well enough job (most of the time) that I can forgive the stupid sexy poses, because they make me care about the characters and I can see that despite how desperately they’re trying to make me think I’m just there for men to stare at me— I can be strong, just like Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk! They’ve been developed as characters and they exist beyond Sexy Poses and Obligatory Falls In Love With The Main Character Storylines. So I’ve come to a point where I can get over that.
I just think it’s artistically lazy.
In the attempt to make Sexy Poses, a lot of anatomy is disregarded. You would think would be a complete no-no for people who make their living off supposedly realistic depictions of imaginary events, but here we are. Stylization is fantastic, and encouraged. It sets you apart, it helps people notice you— But there is a difference between stylization and blatant disregard of the way the human body works. It’s stupid.
More than that, I think you can tell a lot about a character by their shape. Different kinds of athletes have different kinds of bodies because their muscles build in different places! A high school track student would not have the same body as an Olympian swimmer, and an acrobatic hero who spends most of their time doing flips would not have giant breasts, not if they’ve been doing it for a very long time. And if they do anyway, there’s a chance they might be bound while in costume, because they just get in the way (I don’t know much of the effects of gymnastics on boobs but i’m pretty sure most gymnasts i’ve ever seen have been on the flatter side)!
There are more ways to distinguish characters than hair-and-eye-color. I love sexy ladies in comics, I just think there are too many and it lets the artists be lazy. Mix it up a bit! Maybe make a girl sexy but give her baggy clothes because she’s self-conscious. Or a gymnast who actually has the body of a twelve-year-old-boy like they tend to. Tall short, whatever the fuck. just…. make it different, you know?
But we’ve got this idea of The Perfect Woman and of course, she’s the only kind of Woman who could be protecting our world— Large breasts, legs for miles, itty bitty tiny waist. It’s ridiculous. And I have to admit, I used to get irritated every time I heard “wow these incredible standards for women are making our teens depressed and self-concious!” but….
I’m 4’10”, and I weigh 95 pounds. I have 34B breasts but because I’m so small, they look larger than that. I still wear children’s shoe sizes so every time someone tells me “just get platform shoes!” I have to remind them that they don’t make platform shoes for kids who wear shoes the same size as me. I’ve stopped cosplaying almost entirely because all I ever got was “Oh! Look! It’s a tiny version of {character}!” And that was when I wasn’t even cosplaying comic book characters, so the standards were a little more relaxed. Now that I want to start doing that, I take looks at these women, with their legs as tall as I am and a little itty bitty voice in the back of my head tells me I’m never going to be sexy. People are going to look at me like a little kid for the rest of my life. And I just throw the idea of cosplay out the window because it’s just not worth it.
